How to fold a bandsaw blade
If you own a bandsaw, you know how important it is to keep your blades sharp and in good condition. One of the essential skills every bandsaw user should know is how to correctly fold a bandsaw blade. Folding the blade properly ensures that it stays compact, organized, and prevents it from becoming tangled or damaged. In this article, we will explain step-by-step how to fold a bandsaw blade like a pro.
Step 1: Before you begin, make sure you’re wearing work gloves to protect your hands from any potential cuts or injuries. Start by spreading the entire length of the bandsaw blade out on a flat surface. This step helps to remove any twists or kinks in the blade.
Step 2: From one end of the blade, fold it in half and bring the teeth of the top side together with the teeth of the bottom side. This creates a loop with the blade, where the teeth are facing inward.
Step 3: Next, twist the loop of blade by 180 degrees, so that the teeth are now facing outward. Gently lay the twisted part of the loop back onto the main part of the blade, creating an ‘S’ shape.
Step 4: Now, you have two loops. Repeat steps 2 and 3 with the second loop. Once done, you can bring both loops together. Be careful to keep the teeth on the inside to prevent accidental cuts.
By following these steps, you can easily fold your bandsaw blade into a compact and manageable size, making it easier to store and transport. Remember to always take your time when working with blades and handle them with caution. When you need to reassemble the blade, simply reverse the folding sequence. Take your time, practice, and soon enough folding a bandsaw blade will become second nature.
